6、 郑学之特点，本传云：“郑玄括囊大典，网罗众家，删裁繁诬，刊改漏失，自是学者略知所归。”实则破除众家法，汇通群经。如《大雅.皇矣》:“密人不恭，敢距大邦，侵阮徂共。”《毛传》:“国有密须氏，侵阮遂往侵共。”郑笺云:“阮也、徂也、共也，三国犯周，而文王伐之。密须之人，乃敢距其义兵，违正道，是不直也。”孔疏引《书传》云:“文王受命三年伐密须，则阮、徂、共又在伐密之前。四年伐混夷，仍以天子之命命将率。则文王伐此三国之时，叛殷之形未著，密须在其统内，故得征兵也。密须之君，虽不达天命，亦是民之先觉者也。疑周将叛股，故拒其征发。”引张融云：“晁岂能具数此时诸侯，而责徂、共非国也?《鲁诗》之义，以阮、徂、共皆为国名。是则出于旧说，非郑之创造。”按:郑玄策毛用《鲁诗》义，此所谓一经之内不拘家法:又用《尚书大传》以证《毛传》，此所谓汇通群经，不拘古今。
